I have a torn rotator cuff that had surgery and then it was re-town. I had been dealing with constant pain and had a hard time sleeping. I heard about Heather and the prolotherapy through my acupuncturist. After my first treatment with her, there was still pain, and slow progress toward less pain. After a few weeks from the first injection though, I was able to sleep more comfortably and noticed finished pain. I have now done 3 sessions, and I have been able to swim with minimal pain, which I never imagined possible. I highly recommend this treatment for injuries. Heather is a great communicator and has been amazing to work with. I’m headed in for my 4th treatment soon!

Prolotherapy FAQs

Prolotherapy is a non-surgical regenerative joint injection therapy used for acute and chronic joint pain that stimulates the body’s healing process to strengthen and repair joints.

We begin with a small local anesthetic, followed by an injection of a safe, natural dextrose solution directly to the painful joint, ligament, muscles, or tendon that creates lasting healing, without surgery.

A local anesthetic is used at the injection site to reduce needle/injection discomfort; this part is generally well tolerated. There can be increased soreness following treatment, typically lasting for 2-3 days.

This depends on the type of injury, location, and length of time since onset. Generally, it takes 4 weeks for the initial stages of regeneration and repair to occur, with pain reduction often occurring much sooner.

Anti-inflammatory (NSAIDs) and steroid medications should be avoided as they interfere with the normal inflammatory and healing response.
